For the past 18 years we’ve been busy building the world's largest interop library. Along the way, we've accumulated some notable and interesting devices.  In this week's blog, we're dusting off the iPhone 3G.

Highlights
  • Introduced 3G data + assisted GPS to the iPhone line.

  • Launched alongside iPhone OS 2.0, enabling the App Store and native third‑party apps.

  • Shifted to a curved plastic back to improve radio performance versus the first iPhone.



Significance
  • The App Store era began here, fundamentally changing mobile software distribution and the smartphone economy.
